Nomura Yamasaki Landscapes, Incorporated is run and operated by Wade Nomura and John Yamasaki.

The business was originally operated by Wade Nomura whose background in landscaping dates back to his grandfather. His grandfather was head groundskeeper for Avery Brundage’s estate in Montecito. Wade’s father started a landscape business in Santa Barbara in 1950 after returning from serving combat duty in Korea. As a child, Wade started working for his father’s business and continued this career to the present.

The landscape should be as
unique and as individual as the people we work with.
— Wade Nomura

In order to further his knowledge of landscaping, Wade attended Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and graduated with honors, with a degree in Ornamental Horticulture. “What I learned as a child were the design elements and theories of the Japanese landscapes; the care to detail such as selective cutting of individual twigs, plant character, textures, shades of green combinations, stone, water, and manmade features and how they all come together to create serenity” says Wade on what a landscape should be. This is what Wade brings in experience to his work.

Wade and John partnered up over 20 years ago to establish a company that could offer this service to more of their clients. John brings with him management and business knowledge, having graduated from Business Administration from UCSB. Together they have earned multiple Goleta, Carpinteria and Santa Barbara Beautification Awards for their work in the landscape design, installation and maintenance areas.

Each and every landscape they do is custom and unique. The landscape should be as unique and as individual as the people we work with. The landscape should reflect a personality that the client envisions and that is our goal.
